The Red Beet
Film / Performance / 13 minutes
2014
Carrying out 10 activities with red beets in a closed shower room.

The tool that all humans have used for millions of years and continues to be the most used tool in our life is the ‘kitchen’. The earliest technology revolved around the tools that ancient humans have developed to hunt and process animals and plants into food.

The performance examines the brutal nature of cookery, in an absurd and humorous setup, where the artist does all kinds of things(the 10 assignments) with a bunch of red beet, involving actions of beating, cutting, peeling, threading, washing and squeezing.
